Misfire at 6000rpm onwards
Ok,
Small but very annoying problem has reared its ugly head on my car.
Very recently I have noticed a very distinct misfire at about 6000rpm at full boost. This problem is very intermittent and carries on right up to the limiter. Only developed this problem recently when I removed the micro dynamics full throttle gear change device... It seems electrically biased as opposed to mechanical but who knows.
Have changed the plugs to PFR7's and gapped them at .6 and has a relatively new set of magnecors on it. Last night I changed the coil pack to a known good one.
Went for a spin and still suffered the misfire.
Next up I changed the cam sensor to a known good one and the problem continued.
I then tried to change the crank sensor and low and behold this is welded! in the hole and no amount of trying would persuade it out.
Have done a reset on the ecu and have had no CEL flashing at any point.
Was wondering if the boost solenoid could attribute to this problem although the boost gauge seems quite normal with no sudden loss of boost or eratic readings etc.
Currents modifications include a full 3" decat, hybrid FMIC, Walbro 255 with a standard FPR, Superchips bleed valve and fuel cut, magnecors and K & N induction kit, have tried unplugging the MAF and the engine almost immediatley comes to a halt. Car is a MY98 UK.
Am really looking for some help or guidance as I am getting the car mapped by Andy F in March and don't want to arrive with a problem on my car and he is then unable to map it..
Thanks in advance..
