Default The best induction kit????

I am looking at putting an induction kit on my v4 sti, some people say that the standard airbox is better and doesnt need changing so a bit of advice would be great

also there are that many kits on the market these days ...a nod in the right direction would save plenty of headaches

Stay with the standard airbox (plus a decent air filter) unless your going for mega power

He didn't ask about FMIC though?

I prefer the APS one with an FMIC - remap *essential* though.

Yep the APS comes complete with a filter, rated by K+N at 309 bhp in turbo application so I guess it is a possibility for cars up to 300 ish bhp if that is all you want.
Drive off boost after fitting until your MAF sensor is re-calibrated and you have a remap. To do otherwise runs the risk of picking up a piston in the bore as I did 11mls from fitting one of these kits.

With a little ingenuity you can make your own induction system, tailored to your own engine bay, complete with a better cold air system than any of the proprietary kits I have seen.
