In a word no.

IIRC I would say that by the time your water is at normal temperature the oil will have reached about 40-50C judging by my own gauges.

You should not drive the car hard until the oil is above 80C.

Thanks

It is worth getting a gauge to be on the safe side then, what have you got and do you feel that they are acurate.

Went for a spin in a car with oil temp and normal water temp gauge on dash. After about 5 min the water temp was up to normal, the oil temp wasn't even on the gauge. As said by Mark 'in a word no' lol not sure what temp is suposed to be but guess mark is about right at 80c, give it a good ten min at least and then don't give it full blast for a few mins more, and also don't forget to do the reverse when you park it up, don't boot it then shut it down, do the same in reverse or leave it running for a few mins to let it cool down.

My car is currently running at about 90C oil temp, good bit more if I work the car hard. You dont really need additional gauges unless you have a modified car, but if you have some spare money burning a hole then they are nice to have. I got mine (oil temp, oil press & boost) from XyberAutos.com, have a look on the Groupbuy section for details. I also have a Knocklink fitted as mine is a JDM.

Wink

I have got a remote start and Turbo timer, so warming up and cooling down never been a problem to forget, it was the running temp I was concerned about. Have you tried the 97 ron from hogg lane in Grays, my car goes likes the clappers now.

lovely one thanks a lot

Err no, I always use Esso Super or Optimax, no preference as to where from though.
