Default Blitz R-Vit

Got my R-Vit today and installed it in my 2005 WRX. Didn't even need to plug it into the cigarette lighter socket as it powers itself off the OBDII port.

The unit itself is fantastic, and although it's a jap one I have, and therefore can't see what the hell is going on in the manual, it was really easy to use.

The only thing is I have no idea what "strobo" is.

Anyone got one that can shed more light on the situation?

So what does it measure on a scoob then. Do you get usefull things like.

Oil pressure, Oil Temp., And Inlet Temp

As I was thinking about getting one but didn`t want to clutter up the cabin wih loads of gauges.

From what I'm remembering here - Just about everything!

Taken from another thread on the forum:
Revs
Throttle position
Speed
Inlet manifold pressure (boost)
injector pulse
Ignition timing
a/f-c... air fuel??
gear
4wd
o2
wg1
and more.

The way I looked at it, a decent set of gauges costs more than > £200. Hell, the subaru triple gauge pack is about £600 or something ridiculous. This way I get a cool, very simple solution that is easily moved from 1 car to another.

I got mine off ebay, brand new for £200. A bargain as some places sell it for well over £300.

And as I said, it comes with a ciggy adaptor which you don't have to use as it just takes its power off the OBDII port.

This is great for MY05 owners like me who have the concealed ashtray and cigarette lighter.

I've not mounted my unit yet, just wired it up. But I'll do some pictures tomorrow if anyone's interested.

98 onwards I believe chris. As long as it has an OBDII port.

You need the R-Vit Type I which fits most cars. There's a Type II for nissans, and a Type III on the way for Toyotas.

i thought you were limited on the data you could obtain, when it is fitted it would be good to see what data you can get without extra sensors etc as advert says "not all of these parameters are available on every vehicle"

You won't get oil temp and press from any scoob as these don't come back to the ECU (apart from low press warning). Sensors are needed.

I would be interested to see if it gives you fault codes like the SECS monitor. Certainly more easy on the eye!
