Unhappy Lumpy Acceleration

I wonder if I could ask for some help from all you gurus out there.

I have a 2004 STi, PPP, bought in March and now about 5000 miles on the clock. Not serviced since 1000 miles... use largely 97 RON petrol, with occasional 95 stuff.

The car's has been sweet as a nut, and gets driven fairly hard, but recently after a longish, and hard, drive down to Helmsley from Teesside (fantastic road) the acceleration has been lumpy past 5 1/2 thousand revs. It doesn't gently run out of steam, it jerks a little as though perhaps the fuel's not getting through. It happens consistently between 5 1/2 and 6 thousand revs .... not always but 90% of the time.

I'd really appreciate any help, or advice anyone has out there. I'll take it to the dealer but just wanted to ask you chaps first

Thanks a million

Paul

Just got my bugeye back from the garage after having a similar problem, turned out to be a dodgy spark plug that only showed up at higher revs. Plugs changed and ecu reset seems to have cured the problem.
