Default SURGING

NEW OWNER OF MYOO TURBO.I HAVE STARTED TO NOTICE A RHYTHMIC SURGE AS I GENTLY ACCELERATE ANY IDEAS OR IS IT JUST ME??IT HAS JUST BEEN SERVICED AND NOTHING SHOWED UP ON THE SCAN.

Seems like a lot of people get this on GENTLE driving,around 2-3000 rpm

Could well be your lamdba sensor. An easy test is to simply disconnect it and see if the problem is better/worse/the same...

cheers mate.could you tell me where the lamdba is as i`m a bit of novice on this at the moment!!

yep that`s stopped it surging.it`s a little oily around the connection could that be effecting it?also can i run it disconnected or not and is this a subaru only part?

Don't think the oil around the connection would be causing the problem. As yours is a MY00, chances are it's the original. You can run with it disconnected, but eventually you'll probably get a CEL.

You can get an OEM part from Subaru, but it will cost somewhere in the region of £100. Motor Factors sell universal Bosch sensors for about £30.

Possible but not likely under light acceleration, and not if disconnecting the lambda sensor has stopped it. My '97 car often has a slight surging sensation under light acceleration when it's cold, and you can see that the AFR as displayed on the lambda link is going in time with it, it holds back slightly when the mixture is rich and then goes better when it leans out. This behaviour is perfectly normal on Scoobs.
