Default rpm not dropping

when stopping at lights etc the revs dont drop quickly or when just ticking over revs go up to about 1500 any one know what this can be. this dont happen all the time

it has got an induction kit could this be causing it

mine did this when i first bought it

a ecu reset fixed it and its never ever done it scince

Could also be TPS as was my case.

It was the TPS in my case also, I took it off and cleaned it with electical contact cleaner and it has been ok for the last 12 months.

In our case it was the water temperature sensor. These can go in two ways, either it thinks the water is to hot (ie overheating) & the fans continuously go or it thinks that the car is still very cold & the revs just keep rising. Ours was idling at 1,800RPM

If the car likes to cut out as well and won't start a tell tale sign is a smell of fuel as it will run very rich by putting more fuel in & flood occasionally by thinking it's still on a cold start.
