Get the Emissions checked - if high @ idle and has poor fuel consumption it is likely that the Lambda Sensor is fooked

Cheers

Guys Guys!!
i was told this by a subaru machanic in a third world country thats why i asked you on scoobynet to confirm, it may be a false scare. I have normal idling, and have reasonable fuel consumption. So a flase alarm perhaps?

I'd be more concerned if it was running lean. As long as fuel consumption is OK I wouldn't worry too much. Only way to be sure is check the AFR

Grey tailpipes went out with 4 star. You wll not get one with unleaded. If your car is running rich you will get black smoke on boost

As above

Note that scoobs do run rich anyway, but not too rich.

best to be too rich than too lean

if you start having issues with Check engine lights, then be concerned...

but a little rich is quite normal
