EGT Sensor and Gauges... Where can I get some of the shelf cheap?
Hello All
After having antilag fitted to my Scooby Via Gems ECU upgrade... MY93 WRX 343BHP 340LB Torque
I am looking at fitting an EGT sensor (have hole ready in downpipe near turbo) and want an EGT gauge as well.
I would prefer a gauge small enough to fit in a din type fitting above stereo... I cant find a din fitting anywhere..
I will also be then looking to get a combined Oil Temp/Pressure gauge and Sensors required- Any advice on this would be great.
Then I will replace my currrent 63mm HKS Boost gauge for one that sits in the Din thingy as well..
So I hope to end up with 3 Gauges
Boost
Oil temp/Pressure Combined
EGT
With Sensors to boot for EGT and OIL...
If someone can point me in right direction to get all these bits and somewhere cheap too, I have seen a few but they were silly silly money..
All advice welcome
Cheers
Rob

Pyrometer Gauge kit £92.00 Plus Vat P.no 2654
Oil Pressure guage kit £38.40 Plus V.A.T Pno 2634
Oil temp Gauge Kit £28.14 Plus V.A.T P.no 2639 In degrees F
All electronic with 1/8 NPT senders/probes supplied with 3/8 and 1/2 NPT adaptors..
What I will need then is an adaptor from 1/8 NPT to:
Hole allready in my scoobysport downpipe, anyone know what thread that is?
Also where would I put the Oil pressure and temp probes?? and what would I need to do it?
Also I am thinking of putting these 3 x 52mm gauges into space above radio... Din E fitting, reckon they will fit ok?
I allready have HKS boost gauge on pod on dash
Cheers

I am running a VF34 Turbo and had a short (2004 spec) STI short block fitted as my piston decided to crack!!
I am running 1.5bar boost midrange going down to 1.1 at redline, max torque is at 5,200 rpm and I change gear at 6,200 rpm, no need to change any higher and the turbo starts to run out of ooomph then...
Hit 1 bar approx 3K which is nice too
Having the gems ECU fitted and mapped by Steve Simpson was the best mod ever!!!
Tis a beast of a car now!!!!
Mods fitted are:
WRX Heads - Reconditioned, valve seats etc
2004 STi short Block (better pistons, crank etc)
Steel STi Head Gaskets
VF34 Turbo
Walbro Uprated Fuel Pump
Full Scoobysport Exhaust inc downpipe.
Ported Up-pipe and Headers
HKS FMIC
HKS PowerFlow Air intake
Gems ECU with Air intake temp sensor and 3 bar Map sensor
Currently running on standard 380cc Injectors
So next mod may be a turbo that can hit 400+ BHP and fitting 550cc Injectors.. At the mo 380cc are nearly maxed out!!
Once my gearbox blows, I shall fit a 6 speed box with diff etc, then I may go the bigger turbo/injectors route as the six speed box will handle much more torque.... 400BHP/Torque sounds like mucho funo!! But i still want that low down pull so we'll see
