Default remap PPP ECU?

I have a MY00 turbo 2000 with PPP. The previous owner put on a scoobysport exhaust, cat bypass, down pipe and green filter. He had a rolling road print off showing 256bhp.

Basically I would like to make the car more powerful, what can I do? would it be possible to remap the ppp ecu for the exhaust? If so where could I do to get that done?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Richard

could be talking out my **** but i think you need a different (standard ecu).

you can sell/swap your PPP (ecu & exhaust) for a reasonable sum/standard ecu. you should also get some cash from the sale/swap than can go towards the remap cost.

I'd sell the PPP ecu, buy a std MY00 ECU and get it swapped over at the remap stage. The std ECU will then be mapped over.
Flog the PPP ecu which will pay for approx 40-50% of your remap. The PPP ecu is a sellable item which will be lost when you map over it.
Not sure if your keys need recoding for that year, but it's not a major cost.

Power Engineering is in Uxbridge who can advise you further.
A remap IRO £650 and you won't need a boost controller with a good remap.

Wink

Sell the PPP ECU and get an AE802 ecu to remap, as they have a rubbish map on them and are very cheap (£50 to £100) Bob Rawle would be a good contact, and I think he lives in Swindon. Go for the TEK 3 custom map and get a new fuel regulator and fuel pump.

I sold my PPP about 2 years ago, and had a John Banks Postal Tek 2(.75) lol and haven't looked back. Not only is the car much faster and pulls stronger, but it's better on fuel as well (returning 32 MPG )

Oh and I'd opt for a knocklink, AFM and boost gauge, plus a Dawes MBC to control the boost

Hope this helps, Phill

That does help a great deal, thanks guys! I found this Bob's address and have just emailed him now.

Can anyone make any recommendations on the eqipment needed: boost controler, kocklink, MAF ect. models / supliers?

Cheers!

you dont need a boost controller as the ecu software takes care of that, but you do want to add as many bolt on mods as you can afford before getting the map done. as if you dont its a full mapping session again to alter the map for what you add on
