Hi Wendi, unless you really need it, I'd stick with the standard dump valve, and induction system, the exhausts the best bit to change, ideally a full decat, but on new cars it's probably best top go for a downpipe back system, not a full decat, too much can cause problems.

Ron.

ps, get to a local meet!!!

I agree, leeve the DV there is nothing wrong with it, stick a decent panel filter in, a good quailty downpipe and backbox should be ok, but if you want to go any further you will need to start thinking about a remap...

All depends on your budget and what you want out of the car.

Maybe a good move would be a PPP if still under warranty or an ecutek remap if not combined with full ex system with sports cat??

As the man says, all depends on budget!!

Good luck.

Thanx Boys

I already have a PPP, the power is great, apart from a little bit of lag in 1st.

I'm wanting to replicate the noise my old classic used to make, which is how I think a Scooby should sound.

Budget's not a prob, hubby likes to mod everything in sight!

Will this affect my warranty?

You can swap your downpipe for a Scoobysport one, that makes a diference, turbo spooles up quicker and car feels alot less laggy, but some cars have suffered from overboost by doing this which does cause problems. Back box can be swapped for something a little louder, again scoobysport or the like.

Warrenty will almost certainly be void unless you have a very understanding dealer.

Steps after that are Remap full decat exhaust and warrantly definatly gone.

I have the same car an 03 STI PPP, i have decided to wait until the warranty is up then go the full hog.

Wendi, any mods to the car will void your warranty.

If your not worries about that then here goes....

Full 3" decat down pipe & system. the Racing line or Revolution or APS or Janspeed etc
Conical Airfilter, spun cone(with MAF socket) and induction hose.
ECUTEK remap. (Compulsary to set the fuel, ignition and boost correctly and to make the most of the mods you have done!)

Then she'll fly..... with a good mapper 340 HP would be no problem

Wendi,
seeing as you already have the ppp, you will have a better downpipe as part of the kit, if sound is what you want, change the mid section for one with no silencer/resonator in it, that way it's easy to change back if you need to take the car to the dealers, do you use Olympian??

Loud stuff sure will transform it, but not neccasarily make it go faster...

BOV - waste of time for performance, but if you want a good one, the Forge always gets my vote.

Best air filter, standard air box and a good panel unless you want to go for big power. I personally hate them and my experiences with them involve alot of loud noise and increased lag etc. A well setup one with a remap is a different matter....

Depends if you value your warranty or not... if not and money is no object, I would be going to BRD or Roger Clark and hand over your wedge...
