Have you turned the sensitivity to full?
Dim green light is the norm

You should get at least one green on full boost towards the top of the rev range. The LED's are often not soldered on properly, you should open the box and check this, it is common!

If you just tap the block (not the sensor itself) next to the sensor you should get a few LED's light up, just keep tapping a little bit harder and you should get the red LED to light up. Mine just stays on 1 green LED under most driving conditions.

Unless you've done some fairly heavy tuning, or somethings wrong, you should never really see any knock activity. Tapping the block is a pretty good diagnostic, as mentioned

certainly on a daily driver I don't expect to see more than the odd flicker of the bottom green.

To be fair, the knocklink never picks up det, but only slight pinking...

Waste of time and money IMHO LOL

Did you ever get this sorted? Did the lights come on when you hit the sensor?

I though pinking and det where the same, I just thought the non technical name of "pinking" was due to the sound det made when listening through cans.

seem to have it sorted now, boost was spiking and causing the knocklink to light up like a christmas tree. have now fitted hks evc and also added sx performance fuel reg, and walbro pump. raised fuel pressure and everything seems to be fine.

do get the odd green light but only ever the bottom, and to achieve this i have to be having it large on the right foot.
