Question oil temp/press. values...?

morning all,
fitted my SPA dual gauge over the weekend and been having a play.

thing is, what should the normal values be?
and...
does the refresh rate on the pressure side seem a bit quick as its up and down like a dutch girl doing extras

I found that on my Defis..the oil pressure sat around 4.5bar at tickover, sometimes this would rise up and down a fair bit though.
When driving, it sat around 6.0-6.5bar.

Oil temps..well, mine seemed to be quite high when i was running Gems, it sat at 80-90 degrees.

But now the car is all back to standard, it rarely gets above 75 degrees.

I was going to ask the same thing have just fitted my Defi's

for info the pressure once warmed up runs at 6-.6.5 bar running and 2.4. 2.6 idle...
The temp runs at around 85-90c general running around and upto 100+ once giving it some... however the temp sensor is located atop cylinder 3 hotest by all accounts!

hope this helps

Refresh rate can be adjusted to suit and resolution can be altered to minimise the distraction of continually fluctuating readings.
The manual explains everything you need to set them up.

thanks for that,
I run the same sort of values as Dazza above.
cheers AlanG for the refresh bit, need to turn it down a wee bit methinks as its constantly blinking at me.

one thing though, when I press the button to recall peak values, depsite having not seen it go past 6.8 bar during running it quite often shows a peak value of 7.8 or even 8.3 bar!!!

that cant be right can it?

Has everyone remembered to ZERO there pressure sensors, for oil pressure I just Zeroed it with engine off i.e. no pressure in block. But for fuel pressure there is still some pressure in the lines, do I have to remove a pipe to release pressure so I can zero it.

Oil pressure will vary slightly on the type of oil used in your Engine.
