Question Is a panel filter as good as any?

Hi all,

More advice,

Is an inlet panel filter as good a any other? Is there a significant power increase? Is it worth spending the money and buying somthing more upmarket?

Thanks

Gaz

If you can get your hands on an sti panel filter, then you should.....lots of people in the know on here recommend them.

I was at pro sport on Sat,
Spec c made 8bhp more with sti panel filter replacing original subaru one.
Pete, who`s the owner said i wasnt the 1st time that had happened.
That was on a car making 291bhp without and 299 with the sti panel filter.

Not sure where to buy online.
Its an original Sti filter.
The spec c didnt come with one fitted as standard, just the normal subaru one.
£55... and its a throwaway item.
Good power increase but £55 for probably a years use.

God only knows, unless someone has done a back-to-back comparison. All I know is the STI one pretty decent on dyno's + Subaru can't moan about using a non-OE item.

FYI they're about 35quid equivalent here in HK. Can arrange to get bits and bobs sent over if anyone is interested.

Probably not...
Sti filter flows very well but you have to throw it away when dirty.
If you want easy power gains, its hard to beat.

There was a group buy recently (STi racing) and the all in price was £39, I'm sure there will be more group buys on these filters as they are very popular.
