Power loss and ticking noise
Hi Guys
I gave my 01 a good beating the other night and the following morning it seemed ok for a while and then it seemed to loose boost pressure ( no gauge)
Opened the window and could hear a rattle like a loose exhaust component.
Looked under this morning but nothing loose, noise is coming from Turbo side of engine but cannot locate exact position, tried with screwdriver in the ear but no idea. Power is still down as if no boost pressure.
What is the brass coloured thing above the turbo with pipes coming out, the top pipe (metal) looks shiny where it goes into the housing as if it was once ininside the housing, if this is some type of boost regulator and is it stuck out?
Any help greatly appreciated.

The brass coloured thing I think you are referring to is actually the wastegate actuator, It sounds to me like the rubber vacumn hose has come off the union causing a vacumn leak and loss off power, just replace the hose and all should be fine
Hope this helps...

Sorry being a bit dim earlier, looked again and it is obviously the waste gate actuator, and the shiny bit was the actuator sticking out. Took it for a little run and when I came back the shiny bit was inside the housing meaning it does move.
Still no improvement in power &
Still sounds like a tin can with a nail in it.
Also see post on general asking for help with finding a good independant specialist to do some work, main dealer may be expensive if fault is turbo !!
Thanks
