Default vos on a 97uk???

Hi guys.
I have a vos chip in the post for my 96uk scooby, however a friend wanted a vos for his 97uk scooby but he hasnt got the spare ic socket for the chip to plug into, Adrian has told me he cant support this model due to the later type ecu not being compatable with his chip. any ideas guys on how to fettle these later ecu's???

I believe this can't be done as the VOS Chip only works on MY94 to MY96 ECU's as you stated.

check the search bar for ECU threads

if he's got a 97 he will have a different compression ratio amognst other things and thus i would not recomend he use the chip. Adrain will have warned about this too. Does he have the straight mounted IC?
Not even sure if the chip will go in the board!
96 uk should be ok and push straight into the board.

Yes he's got the engine with the straight ic and the plug leads/module are mounted on top of the engine, ive checked the ecu and there is'nt a space for the vos to fit, could his ecu be reprogrammed using ECUTEC???
