Default Milltek Exhaust System

Has anybody gone for a full Milltek exhaust for a new age WRX ?

If yes - are you pleased with it ? does it gives good performance increase ? and not too noisy ?

I'm looking at replacing my standard exhaust and this looked a good option with hi flow CAT.

Used to have one on my TT (flame suit at the ready!!), nice systems, but not the best build quality (was a few years ago though!). Certainly improved the car, and not too loud compared to some of the other systems.

Thanks all.

I also heard the high flow cat downpipe is used for the STI ppp upgrade.

I know most of the new stis from litchfield imports are "upgraded" to full miltek systems by powerstation, so guess they must be pretty good

I've got a Miltek back box and centre on my Classic. The exhaust is a mix of Miltek box and centre and magnex twin dump down pipe.

Its not too loud and actually gives a nice burble without being too in your face. I would imagine that something Jap or the Afterburner stuff may give a few more BHP but I'm happy with mine (TEK2, DE-CAT and K&N)

unknown quantity. u get what u pay for. stick with blitz etc.quality build, sound and air flow performance.

the best of the rest is Hayward and scott. £294 rear box. £204 downpipe.£94 centre pipe. you can buy cheap but ul only get less performance and holes.

enjoy

I can state categorically that Milltek DO NOT supply the downpipe to us for the STi PPP.

I got a turbo back system with a scoobysport up pipe. Gives great crackling popping sound and it's not loud in the car at all (is quite load on drive by at about 90mph ) but it passes bedford's drive by noise restrictions though however it will give CEL lights if you whip the up upipe out too which means you either need a CEL fix or a TEK remap to get rid of that CEL. As far as performance goes then it's hard to judge with any exhaust system as you can not really tell with a few BHP unlike 20BHP. However I would say it did make it a little torquier and spool up a bit quicker at low RPM

I've got a full Milltek exhaust system on a newage sti wrx with a sports cat as well. It is a quality exhaust. The mechanic who fitted the exhaust said "it was the best exhaust He has ever fitted".

I am very pleased with it, the car is quicker with less turbo lag and i'm very happy with the performance increase. It 's not as noisy as a standard exhaust with a ninja back box. I would recommend the milltek exhaust to anyone.

Steve sti-7,

Is your Milltel the new one with the sports cat in the centre section or is it in the downpipe ?

Thumbs up

I've fitted a Milltek Sportcat downpipe and secondary cat bypass pipe to my STi7. IMO this is the way to go rather than a de-cat as you will pass the MOT test easy as swapping downpipes is a nightmare. The performance improvements were very good and more torque. The std downpipe is the biggest restriction in the system. This is not the same sportscat as the PPP.

The quality and fit are excellent, I fitted it myself, every bolt position picked up perfectly. Noise is sweet, only other silencer in the system is a Magnex backbox. Not too loud but the Scooby grumble is there!!

Fully recommended!

FYI - Don't what quotes you've had but I was offered the full Milltek exhaust system for approx £795 (+VAT) and £120 fitting (+ VAT) by Powerhouse in Tewkesbury. This included the large 100cell CAT.
