Default Lower ball joint advice

I've just taken my front lower hub ball joint out of my 94 import wrx.

This one I've taken out has a cone shaped shim. The new one hasn't.

Does this cone come off and go on the new one? Or is it a case of I've got the wrong ball joint?

LOL, I posted the exact same thing a few days ago. You need to get the cone off the old one and onto the new one. It will come - I stuck mine in a vice and whacked it off with a chisel after heating with a blow torch

It didn't see it when I searched for ball joints yesterday.

Thanks for that, although rain has stopped play temporarily

Do you have a ball joint splitter? If so pop the BJ back into the hub and thread the nut on a couple of turns to stop it moving
Fit the splitter and cone should pop off...

Tried the bj splitter - I asked on here, as I thought that would have got it. I'll try the heat tomorrow.

Thanks.
