Smile Anyone took out the clock panel from a MY01? if so how did you do it?

I have a rattle comming from behind the clock area on the top of the dash. I want to take the panel out, have a look see whats loose and maybe sort it out myself.

Does anyone know how to remove this panel?

Cheers
David

if its the same as a my03, a sort of dish in the dash with a visor over the top of the clock, just tug it upwards and it will pop out.

You will find its the heater cover (the bit the air comes out of when directed onto the front screen) directly between the dash and the windscreen, this pops out and you will find the popers are loose, coat them in silicone and replace and the rattle will dissapear.

That was my plan, there is an element of creaking but theres a definate rattle like theres a wire or something moving round. I cant be sure but I think this started when I had another tracker installed on the car.

To remove the dash top pod sit in the passenger seat.Take a firm hold under the lip of the recess where the Clock & Alarm LED are with both hands.Pull sharply vertically upwards. It is VERY tight as you have to part six lugs from their slots.
DONT LEVER WITH A SCREWDRIVER YOU WILL KNACKER THE SURROUND
This is where the clips are so you can see what you are up against.
3. Pod mounting lugs. (Six in all)

I had mine out to replace the clock pod with a SECS monitor pod.

Thanks for posting that Mark. I removed the panel this lunchtime exactly as you have said, I saw your post after the event but ta very much for your effort!

Still getting the odd creaking noise so it looks like I will be taking it apart again and giving it another go with the silicone

Best wishes
David

Got your PM cheers David.

Can you picture someone getting so wound up by an elusive rattle that they shoot a whole can of plumbers expanding foam down the back of the dash.

Now try & rattle.
