Answered question in other thread - Has the problem appeared since fitting the AVCR?
If the CEL has been displayed it is likely the ECU is running in 'limp home' mode as it has detected a fault.
If you look HERE this will tell you how to identify what has initiated the CEL

Cheers

It has mate, i didnt fit the avcr so dont know anything about the solenoid, ill have to have a word with the guy that fitted it. Is it dangerous to drive the scoob with the warning light on and if i sort the avcr will it gimme higher boost as when blitz controller was on it it was hitting boost cut at 1.1bar, bit crap driving at 0.7 bar.

Could you tell me what to look at to sort the problem on the avcr, ie in dummie terms ,haha?

When the CEL is illuminated it wouldnt be advisable to drive under high boost conditions until the fault has been located - the link above will help identify what has initiated the CEL.
The AVCR will not alter the 1.1bar fuel cut so prolly won't give you any more than the HKS EBC - the only way you will be able to run more than 1.1bar is to fit a fuel cut defencer or a Scoobyecu(This will also have maps for UK fuel 98Ron) so to raise the fuel cut. It would be advisable to fit a Knocklink available HERE to monitor for Detonation if you significantly raise the boost

Gettin one of those CustomScooby ECU's in next couple of weeks after testing.

What im saying is the CEL was illuminated after the avcr was fitted and now the car can only run at most 0.7bar as could run nearly 1.1 bar before with the blitz boost controller on.

Do you think that the solenoid is causing the car to cut boost at 0.7bar?

Ok - has the Apexi AVCR actually been setup (Had all the relevant parameters entered)? With a standalone boost controller setup the oem solenoid/ECU will have no control over restricting the boost to 0.7bar.
To Identify why you have a CEL after AVCR install is it possible for you to take some piccies of the pipework install From the Turbo to APEXI Solenoid and from APEXI Solenoid to the Wastegate Actuator - and generally in the vicinity of the drivers side front suspension turret.

He just setup the boost and duty cycle, not the rest of the stuff ie gear judge, rpm boost etc..
First of all he set it to 1bar with duty of 70% then it hit boost limit so ended up having to turn boost down to 0.65 bar and duty cycle to 50%
Ill take some pics in next hour mate. Listen thanks for all ur help

Hi Delboy2.

I have found out that the guy that fitted the avcr reversed the two pipes coming off the solenoid, could this have put the CEL on?

Would this have damaged the car?

Gonna try to get the light off myself by following the instructions but dont know where the Connect read memory connectorsplug is on the car as dont have a clue by the pics, hopefully its not behind the dash and it doesnt need stripped out!

I doubt this would cause the CEL but would be preferable to be 'piped' correctly.
The Connect Read Memory Connectors are under the drivers side footwell up behind dash - normally taped up if they haven't been used before but are accessable
As far as the pictures are concerned I am interested in No5 shown below
Could you take another piccy/piccies like above but more towards the wing - showing sensors on the suspension turret

Cheers

Havent got digi camera in but the pressure sensor is plumbed into pressure sensor on engine and the solenoid is plumbed into actuator and the other end into the compressor side

Cant rev the car over 4500 rpm, would this indicate the car is in limp home mode then?

Think there is 3 stages of limp home mode, one of the other modes being that the fan is on constantly and hardly driveable, what would cause the car to go into one of the other stages?

perhaps they unplugged (electrical plug) the standard solenoid?. If so plug it back in, might have to reset ecu after reconnectiong it. I'm pretty sure (from memory) if you unplug the standard wiring it'll through up a CEL and put the car in limp home mode.

I sold a boost controller to a lad, he had it fitted at a 'specialist' and they done this. He rang me to tell me they fitted it and said I'd sold a duff boost controller to him, I asked what was wrong (got same syptomns as you) and told him to plug the std solenoid wiring in and reset ecu, he rang next day to say it worked.

Might be worth checking.
