Question Cooling fan on MY01 WRX

I have an MY01 WRX UK300 PPP

The cooling fan seems to come on and go off after a short while and when I have been running the car for a long time and leave it stationary and running it cuts in fine...then when I switch the ignition off it immediately switches off (the fan that is)

Is this right?

Have you left the aircon on by chance?

what you mean?

i had the aircon on in the car...

what Im saying is unlike most cars when hot...the fans stay on...but my scoob cooling fans simply turn off when i switch the ignition off....considering the heat the scoob develops i find this a bit odd!

Mine too, except I normally wait for the fan to turn off before turning the car off.

Mine's the same too and I do the same as Chris (Leave the car runnin until the fan has turned itself off)
Nothing to worry about but I agree that other turbocharged cars I've owned, the fans have stayed on when the ignition has been turned off!!

Same on mine (MY02). But surely keeping the engine running is more sensible? You keep the water pump flowing water preventing hot spots (and oil pump pushing oil round)?

My MY01WRX is exactly the same. I just sit inside the car waiting for it to go off.
