Question screeching noises on overrun. advice required

I have started to hear screeching noises from the front of the car on overrun.

This noise occurs at around 2000 RPM, and happens intermitantly. This is definately not brakes as it happens before I start braking. It's hard to detect exactly where the noise is coming from, but I think it's bonnet area.

The car is a UK MY96, and has covered 84,000 miles. The car is bog standard, apart from a backbox. I have owned the car over 4 years, and this id the first time I have started to notice this. Turbo related??

Any ideas or advice would be appreciated.

Regards Dik

Sounds like it could be turbo related, bearings perhaps. Might not be though Does it sound related to the turbo spooling speed?
