Default re-map ! ! ! gauges ? ? ?

i have an my00 uk turbo
with magnex down pipe, full blitz nur spec r and baileys dump valve

i'm getting it re-mapped at power station in 4 weeks time
but
a friend has advised i get a boost gauge and a knocklink

bearing in mind i'm a bit of a novice
are these items essential
or
can i get away without getting them both or either ?

cheers in advance

you could get away without the boost guage - but then you wouldn't see if you are over/under boosting ( and have a problem )

you could get away without a knocklink, but you would miss the fact that your engine is detting it's t1ts off until it lunches itself and presents you with a 2k bill.

In short...... no , you should really have both.

if u have them both fitted before the re map you can see what the mapper has done and if its working as it should pre re map

this will stop any "it was like that when you gave it to me " if you have them both fit you will enjoy the extra power more as you know its all working as it should
