Default Off-Boost Knocklink Activity...?

Been doing it for a while now, on and off - nothing for a few weeks, and then flash, for no apparent reason. It only does it when the engine's fully warmed up, but it doesn't seem to matter what speed, gear, revs, load, I've even had a flash whilst idling. There's just no consistency to it. It just occasionally spikes up to red, and then nothing for ages. Performance seems to be OK. No excessive Knocklink activity on boost. AFR gauge is as it's always been.

UK MY00, H&S decat dp and silencer (OEM centre), GBE MkII MBC @ ~18psi, STi panel filter, Samco I/C hoses, PFR7Bs, always Optimax. wtf...?

Sensor's nice and firmly bolted. But wouldn't the display be flickering all the time if that were the problem...? I've eliminated pretty much everything I can think of! Gearbox. Hmm, I thought of that as well at first, until the bloody thing flickered whilst idling at a set of traffic lights... why I oughta...

Have you checked the sensor when it is hot? the bolt might be expanding?

When idling was the clutch in or car in neutral.. layshaft still spins if in neutral..

Either that or it could be a faulty knock link, or sensor or the wiring is damaged to the sensor probably where it goes through the bulk head.

Haven't checked when hot.

I think I was sitting in neutral, no clutch pedal movement, hand brake on.

You could be on to something with the wiring. I think I bodged it when I wired it in the first place , so might be worth redoing. Cheers!

Hope so. Certainly wouldn't have thought it could be det/pre-ignition though...?
