Oil psi reading
Hi all
What should the psi be for oil pressure? Does it stay at a set pressure when on idle and in motion, hot and cold?
Thanks all
Johnny

Pressure is usually higher in idle, then should drop once the engine (and oil) is warm.
What the pressure is varies depending on the viscosity (SP?) of the oil in your engine.

Ah right
When i first put the pressure gage on today it went to 95 psi but as it warmed up it has gone to about 75 psi. I used mobil 15-50 on my last change.

So does anyone know the viscosity( sorry about the spelling of it)!! of mobil 15-50. I know nothing about oil only that the mobil one is a good one. Just need to know what the minimum pressure should be so my big ends dont go for the THIRD time!!
Thanks all
