Question Quick question on a bugeye...please read me...

Trying to do what i thought was a simple job, changing the gear **** for momo but the sleeve seems to be attatched to the **** itself am i right or does it just need a good old tug ?

Andy - it needs a tug

The top of the leather cover fits over a ring at the base of the gear ****. If you are fitting a new gear ****, most don't have the ring at the bottom, but you should find that it pretty much stays up on its own. Nitosport do one with a fitting ring (which is what I've got) if you want to change from the Momo.

cheers gave it a tug and yes it came off but the sleeve just slips over the ring any ideas. whats the nito sport one like?

You can sort of see it in the photo:



Not that clear, but you can see a larger neck at the base of the gear **** - this is what the leather surround fits over.
