Question Dipstick

Sorry to post another thread............

O.K, may sound a really daft question but I have a 95 WRX and wondered, on the dipstick is the hole above the F on the dipstick the max level, or is it the notch a little further up????????

Take care!
Keep the engine oil between the low and full mark when car is stone cold and on a level surface. The notch above the F is the max level of oil when the car is HOT and level.
Do not run with the engine over full, the boost solenoid will chock with oil and that leads to other awkward problems!

Cheers 911

I did have it above the F level and i have recently just started having probs with my wastegate solenoid......................i think????? Cleaned it out today, let some oil out and reset the ECU, and if i really stamp the throttle it cuts, but I think i will start gradually putting the pedal down, felt alot nicer and car went better. But with regards to the fuel cut still coming in.............I really don't know what else it could be?????????

Cheers

John

I had fuel cut 'arrive' on my Stiv3 out of the blue, and found the ecu was allowing up to 1.6 bar to arrive before cut, which was violent to say the least.
I did all the cleaning tricks, maybe you need to do it again to get the residue out.
In the end I had a Blitz Turbo boost control fitted, it now runs at 1.31 bar, runs grat and gives 314 bhp. No cuts, but a very expensive solution (£800). Cheaper than a new engine.

Cheers for the advice,

try clening the boost solenoid i have just found this out today. i removed the pipes from around it and there was oil in them and one of the pipes was affected by the oil and was falling appart. so i have changed it.
