Default unusual noise??

I have been running my RB5 on optimax as it seems to be the peoples choice over BP ultimate which I previously used, not noticed a hugh difference as some people mention, only difference I seem to get is a strange whoosh sort of noise as I change gear, but only when driving hard? Car is PPP with full de-cat, is this a normal noise or something to worry about??

Probably the dump valve. Why not try disconnecting the re-circ hose, blanking it and see if you get that noise only louder. put it back on once you're finnished though.

Hi,
I've run my car on Optimax for 3 years but haven't noticed a noise any louder than usual, but you can hear the wastegate on gearchange anyway.

I have the prodrive model but still have the standard exhaust on it, does a de-cat system add much power and torque? Which system did you go for?

What do you do when the MOT is due?....

Regards,

Tim

I went for full magnex sys with 3.5" round tail pipe. You will notice an increase in power and torque, just put back the center cat for MOT time and you'll be fine.

Dave
I thought the RB5 PPP came without the centre cat, is that not correct?
