Question Has anyone bought a lambda sensor from Halfords recently?

As above really.

Went in today and asked if they sold lambda sensors to be answered "what's a lambda sensor?".After i explained what they are and what they did the assistant said "should of known that - i'm a mechanic!"

With the help of another assistant they looked it up on their computer and said they don't sell any lambda sensors. So has it been discontinued or does it depend what store you go to?Or am i best getting one from the local motor factors or cats-direct-shop.co.uk?

TIA

think they have discontinued the 02 sensors now.

but they used to sell L300 lambdas at £25 some shops may still have one or two left over.

This was last year. Tried "oxygen sensor" as well. Also, "you know, the thing in the downpipe that measures the oxygen content of the exhaust gas". The response "what's a downpipe...?" ended up with me walking out muttering "numpty" under my breath...

I think it varies from store to store. Got one 2 weeks ago for £25 (L300) from one store, asked in another and they had no idea what I was talking about!

I was told they have discontinued them hence the price (£25 down from £49)
