Yes it will and you'll notice a bit of extra urgency. The main difference is that instead of being an A802 it's an 801 which fuels slightly richer due to the then less stringent emmissions requirements.
Or so i've been told
Oh and prodrive have had a sniff

Actually the ECU is an STI one (not sure what model - suspect STI v5) that has been remapped by STI for Prodrive.

It's not the same as aN AE80x ECU, but it will work on any MY99/00 car. The mapping is tailored for a std car with a free-flowing decatted centre and backbox though.

If you have a decatted downpipe you may need to adjust the restrictor hole to avoid any overboost or boost spikes.

Yes, it should be. Certainly was when I tested a MY00 PPP ECU in my MY99 RB5.

Like, I said results and any issues (if any) will be determined by the modifications you have on your MY00.

Hi Stefan

Is fitting a de-cat downpipe to my RB5 PPP a possible mod worth doing? Does it make the car noisier?

cheers

Steve

these numbers are identical to the ECU I have fitted to my car (my00), -- just 'plug n play'

Why did the Subaru dealer require both of my ignition keys to programme to the ECU then when mine was fitted?

Is yours a MY99/00?? With my car (MY00) I just swapped the ECU's and went for a drive......... (I believe that earlier/later cars may need more work doing)

Thumbs up

Mine is a MY99 believe the keys are needed to be coded to the ECU as immobiliser is connected. However. maybe they just thought they did?

Just done a search, can confirm that no need for keys to be reprogrammed for MY99/00 only for MY97/98 so dealer must have taken them just in case he needed them.
