Default Dry sump for Impreza

Do dry sump kits exist for Imprezas? (idea sparked by this thread: http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=316719)

Cool

yes, dry sump kits are available for these engines and if you need further info on them. it would be better to contact a com[pany who supplies parts for rally cars, as they fit these things as "standard" so to speak.
It is not a cheap item and do appreciate you will have to find space inside the car to run supply and return hoses from the boot to the engine bay, plus having a loss of boot space for the tank as well.

??? Dry sumped systems are illegal in Group N, Group A and WRC rallying SS, so you wouldn't find many rally specific companies fitting these systems "as standard"...

I'm sorry, but did anyone mention exactly what "class" of anything this system was to be fitted too?

Er, I dont think so, so I dont think it matters at the present now does it.
Lets just say that systems are available, its just supply would be better btained from a more "rally" oriented supplier if you prefer words to be better spelt out..............

If you really want to talk eligibility, then do so, I deal with this every day of the week, including weekends............Just put your money down first before I listen..[ha,ha!].

Scoobyslut,

I'm very interested in finding out more. I've spoken to several Rally prep' companies this morning, but none of them have ever come across a dry sump system for the the Impreza. They're only familiar with "baffled" sumps for the rally cars.

Please can you email, or PM me, someone who can supply it.

Mark.

No, and you didn't have to. My point was that without an obvious market for a dry sump system, it's unlikely that many commercial enterprises will devote much money to developing such a conversion. Most of the cars running in BTRDA and ANCRO Group B use the straight WRC or Group A engines, so apart from a handful of real hardcore trackday enthusiasts, I'm not immediately sure where the market would be.

My previous post wasn't a dig SS, I'd genuinely be interested to know where you can get one. Prodrive certainly don't do one, as all the Group N and Group A/WRC engines use wet sumps (there's a WRC wing sump sat on my desk right now as it happens).
