Default Estimated BHP?

WRX '94 (late) hence 260bhp.

Full de-cat, unsure of downpipe and centre section but Ninja backbox.

Green panel filter.

Standard ECU - I think!

Only had car for a week hence unsure about full-spec.

Would I be right in thinking approx 280?

Cheers.

My MY96 STi Version III (should be 276bhp oit of the box) is running 295bhp/296lbft with green panel filter and full decat (Magnex 6 x 4 backbox)- running standard boost.
Working on this assumption your figures are probably pretty close.

I've just re-read this original post properly - how do you know its a full-decat if you're unsure of the downpipe and centre ?

220 standard on a wagon and auto, wrx 92-94/95 240 standard,then 260, on 97 280.

A 94 with a standard 240ps on our fuel would prob make about 230 ish, with decat and filter anywhere between 240-255.

Its an afterburner downpipe - have receipt for that. I have the original centre section in my garage that he had to refit for the mot. Hence I know its full de-cat!

Thanks,

Ian.

I did a bit of research and was led to believe that 260ps (256bhp) for late 94 on?

Hence 256 + full-decat + green panel filter = approx. 280-290 on 100 RON?

Therefore just on Optimax (I don't use OB) = 270-280?

This about right anyone?

Cheers,

Ian.

My old 4 door was manufactured in late 1994, so its classed as a MY95.

What is your engine code (its on the near side front suspension strut under the bonnet) then go to the SIDC FAQ and see whether you've got a MY94 or MY95.

MY94 salloons have 240PS and the MY95 has 260PS.

My old MY95 WRX with full 3" decat and K+N panel filter made 267BHP on the rollers.

Thought it would make more than that? Pretty sure mine is an MY95 but I'd have to check.

What fuel were you using when you RRed it? Also any remap etc.?

Cheers,

Ian.

At the time it was BP SUL and Millars OB (Optimax wasn't around, neither was NF back in those days). My car was considered a goodun and achieved better results than other similarly modded subarus on the day

Also remember RR results are only good for the day and of course some read higher /lower than others. This was at PE so a pretty average/high set of rollers.

Also remember that a full decat and filter might have got a UK turbo from 220 to 250 in the past - doesn't mean that a 280 sti will get 310 though.
