Ok, I have just purchased a decatted magnex center section for my 03 WRX.

Now the reason im posting in the technical area is that it has been mentioned by a bugeye owner that when he fitted a decat center it started to do strange things like "stuttering" on tickover and generally when cold. Is this common?

Should i be concerned about just taking this cat out? after all they do this for the PPP (i realise that the do more than just that though...). I had been informed by other people that this wouldnt be a problem at all and it would run perfectly fine. Would i have any ECU issues?

WHO DO I BELIEVE?!?

Any help from you technical whizzes would be greatly appreciated!

Can't really help with the techie question mate, but i think the ecu will be ok as standard, (although for more performance gains it might be worth ecutek or similar).
How much was the magnex pipe? and is it one or two pieces?

Its one piece i believe, i dont know how much they are new, as ive just bought this one off here!! got a feeling theyre over 200 though?

Will have to try out the piep i think to see if there is any trouble, i can always whip it back off again if there is....(then wait till i can get an up and down pipe )

I'm pretty sure there won't be a problem with the centre though, cos loads of people have done it.
