Unhappy Bent door post, what happens now?

Had a nasy bang yesterday due to the snow up here in the North East of Scotland. Slid into the front of Land Rover's bumper which ripped my 2 passenger doors to bits. Went to a garage for a cursery look, new doors, hinges etc required. They said they wont know if the door post has been damaged until they take off the doors. My question is: what would happen if the post is damaged? Would they class this as a right off? It's a Jap WRX STI MY95.

Thanks
Bob

The B post is a very important part of the shell in all saloon cars. I think the Impreza is made from high tensile steel at that piont for side protection etc. Only way is to take the car to a real body shop and see what they say, but if it won't or can't be pulled out on a jig, I think the car is a dead one.
Graham.
