Not the Tipical "Why ECU is best?"...
Hi guys:
I'd like to ask "Why ECU is the best", but I know the ECU's are as good as the tuner, so my question is focused to other area.
First, there isn't tuners here so, my mates and I will be our own tuners, so obviusly we gonna get a Wide banda oxy sensor and the proper detonation sensor in order to see what happen (I need something easy to use).
My idea is get some kind of tuning device who allow me adjust:
- Fuelling
- Boost
- Ignition
Really, I don't see if another features like antilag or launch control, could be really useful so, that's my requirements. So based in that, my choices are:
1.- Ecu link
Pro's: Plug and play, it seems user friendly, there is some people using it
Cons: Replacement ECU, so it must tune everithing
2.- Haltech LT8
Pro's: a lot of people use that, the fastest EJ20 are using it
Cons: It is not Plug and play, a replacement ECU, price
3.- Greddy management system (e01, emanage)
Pro's: Price, avalaibility in my country, is a piggyback, it seems easy to use
Cons: I don't know
4.- Ecutek
My car is MY98, so I can't use it
So, my question is (regarding the tuner):
What are the strong/weak points of this options?, Are there any "real" differences?
By example, I have "heard" link is not good controlling boost, haltech is not good controlling idle, but I don't know if that "problems" are because of the ECU itself of because of the program.
Thanks in advance
Regards from Chile
