Dont know what anyone else thinks but when that bonnet starts to bow at about 1-- it is a bit worrying, and when flat out i am s--- scared, it would be interesting what it looks like from the outside. I stopped the other day to check it, but it is solid

That's not quite fair RON. Aluminium bonnets can be just as strong (if not moreso) than steel ones. The aluminium classic bonnets weren't anywhere near as wobbly as the MY03 ones, and neither for that matter were the MY01/02's.

There appears to be a particular issue with the design of the MY03 Impreza bonnet/scoop that makes it particularly prone to distortion. Given that the STi seems to be worse than the standard WRX, I'd hazard a guess that the hewge </sara ***> scoop bears a large share of the responsibility.

The potential worry, given aluminium's susceptibility to fatigue, is what might happen to these wobbly bonnets a few years down the line. One hopes Subaru have done their research in this area.

once you get a few large birds stuck in the scoop the flexing stops, prodrice use seaguls and they are the experts.

hope this helps

Best bets would be the usual suspects like Grade A, Central Subaru, TEG, Glenburgie etc.
