Merry new year all!

Car is an STi V4... I have a full decat on the way, and just about to go for a link ECU, and get Bob to map it. Have a knock link and boost gauge also.

Will I need any other safety type mods to go with it? I dont want massive horsepower, but what sort of figures BHP / Torque would I be looking at with a safe 1.25 / 1.3 bar boost level?

Hoping the standard intake / injectors / pump will be sufficient.

Again, I just want reliable power gains, no monster power

Mark,
the only thing that springs into my mind is maybe boost related hoses, but you know how much I know!!! if you do get Bob to map it, let me know when, I may come for the ride if it's an all in one day job!!

Ta Ron

Hoses will be good for that. The samco Turbo one is supposed to be good for a few horsies though.

Any more ideas?

MB, if it of interest, my STiV3 has a full Magnex decat and a Blitz boost controller set at 1.3 bar.
At 1.25 bar the car made 314 bhp and 280 lbft on the rollers.
No other mods except Optimax fuel.
Runs much better than the stock STi car now.
Graham.

911,

Interesting stuff, ta. Do you have a knock link fitted? Id be a bit nervous about decatting, upping the boost and not using octane booster? Would be interested if its all running ok.

Money,

Thought with the Link having its own boost targets, a controller wouldn't be neccessary? Upping the boost over the Link settings would only confuse things would it not?

MB: The car is driven VERY hard in flat out competition on Optimax, no boosters, no knock links etc and is revved all the way to 8000 very hard. Never had a whisper of det, bad running and such like. Drive home on the road after a weekend of hill climbing and will stop-off at the supermarket on the way home....
The ECU is STi, bog standard, the only mod is the boost controller and the Magnex system.
Great car...keep it simple.
Graham.
