Can anyone give me some advice on where, or more importantly where NOT to locate a trolley jack? Just for general underneath inspections and wheel changes etc. Any spots to aviod?

Cheers

There are three main jacking points I use.
1) Under rear differential
2) Under tie plate on front cross member
3) Just in front of rear wheels on the rear diff lateral braces

As for where NOT to locate it, be very careful underneath the floor pan as most of parts under there are very thin metal.

avoid everywhere but the jacking points!

Which are....

Front towhooks
Rear Diff (diff moves on mounts a little, don't worry)
Plate under front subframe (right under steering rack)
Main chassis rails on sides but ONLY with wide jack cradle or load spreader.

You can also jack/stand on anti roll bar mounts.

Emergency jack straddles main seam on bottom of sill.

But do not put a trolley jack on here, cos you'll crunch the seam and you wont be able to get the emergency jack on there anymore.
