The engine power wont affect it, as all it does is allow the syncronized movement of parts,the speed of the belt wont increase with more power unless you drastically increase the RPM.
Just stick with OEM or equivelant and you wont have any problems.
STi do a replacement timing belt (its pink!!), you can get it from japanparts.com. about 100 pounds.
Kent/Piper cams also do an uprated belt along with Toda raceing.
used a pattern part [dayco] on my sti 3 and it lasted 3 months before it jumped two teeth,fortunately no damage,rough as hell running though.Fitted genuine part still going stong 2 years later with the cars new owner.Some pattern parts are ok but not timing belts!
