Need some information. Fitted a full H&S system to an STi7 yesterday. This included the uppipe.

The thing is that on the last MY02 I did, there was an EGT sensor in the uppipe, but this car HAS NO EGT SENSOR WHATSOEVER. No sensor, no threaded hole, no plug it its place, NOTHING!

The uppipe is EXACTLY the same as the one I took off a MY99 last week! same size and OD of outer heatshielding. Am I missing something? Or is it the STI7 that is missing something?

CEL fix for rear sensor is on and so far no CEL has lit up. (PHEW!)

Somebody tell me what is going on!

Russell

Factory EGT sensors in the up-pipe are there to protect the up-pipe cat from overheating and therefor disintigrating and damaging the turbo.

MY99 and STi7 dont have a cat in the up pipe, so dont need an EGT sensor.

Sorry - my fault The last one I did was a MY02 WRX. I thought that all the MY02 cars (inc STi7) had Cats in the Uppipe. even the local Subaru people said they weren't sure (now THAT scares me!)

Good info for future reference! Thanks John!
