A resonator simply helps to quieten a noisy exhaust. There's no difference in performance, one way or the other.

As said it reduces noise, but is slightly more restrictive.. all of about 1bhp in it though..

Quality. Now that's the sort of girlfriend you need! The Dad of one of my brother's x's is the owner of Aldon Automotive, a tuning company in the Mids. That came in useful for him (I hadn't got a car then), bloody typical they split up!

Cool

Gav, just a couple of points to consider. The main reason a vent to atmos. dump valve gives flames is this. The mass meter and the ECU expect the recirculation of a certain amount of air from the factory valve. As a result, there is fuel put in to go with this. Because there isn't enough air, the fuel doesn't ALL burn......whats left hits the hot exhaust and voila......flames and bangs. It can however cause bore wash (fuel goes past rings into engine) and "water" down your oil. Make sure you change your oil lots mate!

I expect i'll get flamed for this (pardon the pun!)

Merry Christmas big lad!
