Is there any Advantage in having back pressure in a Turbo Application, Torque / Bhp etc, Or would a straight through system give the best environment for maximum torque / Bhp Etc .
Thanks

I always thought that the less back pressure in the turbo back part of the system then the better a properly set up turbo will run. I cannot see why back pressure in the system will improve things. Perhap's someone else can explain why if that is the case.
My car certain improved all round with a more free flowing system.

You want as little backpressure 'after' the turbo as possible. There is some drivel that floats to the surface every so often about a little backpressure being beneficial, but I think this is probably based on the misguided assumption that higher pressure (more boost) means more power. Well, sometimes it does, but not when you're only getting the boost by bunging the system up!
A little experiment... find one of those table fans. Try blocking the air coming out of it (introducing backpressure after the turbo). You'll find that the pressure ('boost') has shot up, but the flow has dropped dramatically. You want flow here, just as in a car, not pressure Flow means power, boost doesn't - but given the same system (i.e. not sticking your hamster in the exhaust ) increasing boost will increase power.
Um, I think that makes sense?

Thanks Chaps,
How does the Scoobyworld Ninja compare to a Magnex 6x4 Etc for free flow
Current setup (MY94 UK)Gruppe-s Headers & up-pipe , Open Neck Decat Dp, Magnex decat centre, Magnes 6x4 Tail, Before the Headers was pulling 272 Bhp & 269 Ft 1lb @ John Nobles chesterfield. Was thinking the magnex might be a bit of a bottle neck
