Question

Is it neccessary to drill a 1.5mm hole in the elbow on the Dawes?, and will it cause any damage if this is not done?

If you have a small turbo running on a standard ECU then it is a good idea to go to 1.0mm and see what it is like. The reason for this is that the throttle position sensor is an input into the load calculation for the ECU, and massive boost on part throttle can make it run lean. Also it improves driveability, because it makes the throttle more linear rather than following the rather artificial/exponential change in torque you get over a very short RPM range if spooling up the turbo to the max even on tiny throttle openings.
