Yes, but boost control on the legacy is pain because of its very weak actuator, and as ssuch they all tend to vary.

I run a scoobyecu in my '93 legacy, but the over boost is very variable with weather, so adding a dawes to prevent overboost spikes is possible still a good plan.

Yes it works, but it's rather variable with the Legacy.

I would like to get my hands on a few legacys at the same time in the same place to develop a more universal map. The impreza one I did works well, but has evolved, and there just isn't enough Legacys for this to happen quickly.

I have had excellent results in the past week with a new fuel map, but I need to check a few things on my own car to make sure it's not down to something else (charcoal canister plumbing).

If there are a few people out there with Legacys then I might be up for doing what is in effect a custom map for the price of a regular scoobyecu. Don't quote me on this! But I will consider any sensible proposal.

Paul,

I would be interested in your "off the record" proposal and I think Mike - me mate - would be in as well. So thats 2 then

I was thinking of something along those lines.

It's entirely possible I will be up north in the not too distant future.

Accommodation would only be required if the custom mapping is running very late or alcohol is too tempting

Paul, we have just fitted your latest editions to Mikes Legacy and its transformed the thing.

If he was capable, he'd have your children right now

Well done that man.

Top upgrade and can only get better with custom special remap.

Keep us in the loop

Kristijan,

If I can get enough Legacy's involved it would allow a much better all round legacy map to do by post

Question

Paul, I have a Legacy Turbo Estate with the following mods:

1. Green Panel Filter
2. SS Exhaust System 'Mongoose'
3. Superchip (Yeah, I know it was when I didn't know the score)
4. Boost Gauge 'Blitz'
5. Lambda Link
6. HKS Iridium plugs
7. Koni Shockers
8. Wheels set up by TSL Motorsport
9. Regular Oil changes with 10W60 Fully Synthetic Millers Oil
10. 16" Impreza Alloys with Goodyear Eagle F1's
11. Millers 'Octane Booster' always used
12. STi Clutch
13. Sti Head Gaskets

The car is running with 1.2 bar at full whack.

Is there anyway you could help me with this remap? I was thinking of fitting an uprated fuel pump and injectors with a TDO5 Turbo.
Is that sensible or am I pushing it? What does the remap involve do I have to get a different ECU and replace the 'Superchip' what is the score and how much will it cost.

Could I have your e-mail address or should I give you mine?

SORRY FOR BUTTING INTO YOUR THREAD!

As far as I know some legacies were already using TD05 but most of them were using VF12 which has very similar flow characteristics.

TD05 is significantly higher flowing than a VF12.

VF 12 is also still quite laggy too.

TD05 is a nice upgrade.

Question

Paul,
Will the TD05 work better on the Leg straight away with your latest romms or will it need a further re-map to gain from it??

Sorry to hijack the thread but...

I cant get Mikes Leg to boost above 14psi even with the actuator pipe work removed

I think its a weak actuator ont turbo? (hence the TD05 option)

We are also getting a nice boost cut style misfire to complement the above. Could the misfire be coilpacks or am I missing something??

Please help fellas, you know I love you all

Ste.

I was always under the impression that VF12 should be similar to TD05 as there were some cars (1 series from MY92 up to MY94) fitted with TD05 and most of them VF12.

I guess I was wrong then... Nice to know...

Is there any ECU related difference between cars with TD05 and VF12?

Regards,

Kristijan
