What is the preferred tyre size for a 98 Wagon on 17's, currently
on 215x40x17 but some people use 205x45x17.. Is there anything in in handling wise???
Cheers

205's are more expensive (£20+ more a corner) than 215's and the choice of rubber is very limited. Toyos for instance, cannot be had in 205/45.
I've ran both sizes and the only real difference is in my wallet

I thought the standard size was 16" wheels.
205/45 means your closer to the standard rolling radius - just 4.9 mm larger.
with the 215/40 your 7.6 mm less. Both are very close so wither will do. 215's are cheaper.
