Hi there. I am getting a Legacy GT hopefully, within a month. And i want it to be relatively fast. I telephoned almost every tuning company in the UK and noone can help me on this one The engine in the new legacy is very similiar to the impreza sti. However, it produces around 300hp. 1. Any suggestions what steps can i take to get this power? 2. Anyone knows what is the optimal boost pressure for the fatory STi turbo? What is highest possible pressure on this turbo and what are the consequences of running at this boost frequently? Thanks a lot, guys.

I'd say 300hp is pretty fast isn't it?

If you want to go faster bigger turbo.. injectors.. fuel pump.. FMIC... remap... and not all in that order...

I'm a novice so you may already know more than what i'm typing

There is a wealth of tuning info on the 2.5 STi engine on NASIOC.

You could get a boost gauge, knocklink and put a good exhaust on it which should free up a good few horses for starters. Some are using manual boost controllers at 1.1 bar also. Have a look on NASIOC for lots more info. At some point Ecutek will probably crack the ECU so that will be an interesting option.

I am planning on using the same block in my MY00 UK car but that is where the similarity ends because of different ECU, heads, intercooler, manifold, turbo, injectors etc.

Roger Clark(e) Motor Sport and Lateral Performance both do. Ian Litchfield has one in his STi RA Type C and may also be able to advise. Price is 1400-1600+VAT in the UK. Price in the US is about $1300 + tax I gather.

Guys, can you suggest:
1. blow off valve- blitz HKS Apexi
2. boost controller- blitz HKS Apexi
3. induction kit- blitz HKS Apexi
4. flywheel
5. clutch
6. fuel cut defencer- blitz HKS Apexi
7. what is this- HKS A/F Knock Amp?
8. injectors- blitz HKS Apexi
Could you also tell me where to get the best prices for those? The car is a new style subaru legacy, the transmission and the engine are the same as in the WRX. Thanks a lot. P.S. I found AP Racing 6 pot brakes for £1665. What do you think about it? Cheers

6 pot sounds dear.
Why go for AP, why not try Hi-spec 6pot for about £1450 fitted.
Need to have 17" wheels for both.
