Unhappy

I read somewhere that the correct bailey d/v for a my95 import should have a flat bottom inside. By that I mean the end that you attach to the samco fitting kit. Mine has a rod coming out of it.

I have been having idle problems and believe this could have something to do with the D/V.

Could someone who has a Bailey one please pop their one off and have alittle look inside and let me know?

Thanks very much to anyone who can help.

Ive got a 'Bailey d/v' on MY93wrx

its got a large bore samco pipe feeding into it at the bottom, and a small bore pipe in the top which goes to the top of the head someplace..

Had it fitted about 12 months now, and touch wood its never give me any problems at all.

Glad to hear you're not having any trouble.

what i really need is for someone to take there's off (by undoing the clip on the 'large bore' samco hose) and look insite. I need to know if it has a rod coming out of it or if it's flat.

Can you help?

Have you tried an ECU error check chris, to see if it is a sensor. The Bailey you bought off me is definately for a 94-97 import and didn't cause any problems on my 94. Hope you get it sorted.

The Gilly, your Bailey Dumpvalve is the correct one for your MY95 Impreza! I've fitted one to 3 of my own cars and used to run one on my Impreza. The little rod up the end tells you that it's the DV26 version. There is a version available without the rod (DV24 I think?), but the DV26 was designed to be compatable with cars that use airflow meters instead of MAP sensors!

Wicked as long as I can mark this off the list of things to check. No CEL light and have reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery and still no light.

Think i'll give up trying to work it out myself and book it in with my mechanic.

Cheers for all your help

Chris

P.S. Long story but your dump valve has ended up with a mate and I have a silver one it was exactly the same as your one tho!

I had exactly the same thing with my old bailey dump valve.

When pulling up to stop idle would drop to almost stalling then up then nearly stall then up again and so on.

It turned out the dump valve was not closing properly and air was getting in all the time!!!!! I changed it to a forge item and has been fine ever since.
