Red face

My seatbelt is not reeling itself in like it used to, sometimes needing to be physically fed back into the pillar.

It still tensions up if I lean forward too fast or crash into a building but is getting a little annoying.

In all seriousness though it is probably quite dangerous as if I do have a couple of feet of slack without noticing and then have an off I could be in big trouble.

Any advice on how to fix the problem?

Try this one (works for me) : Spray silicon spray onto the belt and rub it in, that make the belt as smooth as silk, and it will slide again.
You also can use dashboard spray like Armor All or so....

Exclamation

sounds like one of a numer of things, most likly the spring cassette has worn out, non repairable im afraid.. or it could be an accumulation of crud round the webbing spindle affectine the retraction mechanism,, you could as a resort spray wd40 or similar carefully into the sides of the retractor, but do not attempt to dismantle it unless you are sure of what you are doing,

the spring can cause serious injury if released
