Awaiting delivery of P1 in september.
Can anyone tell me if it is worth swapping my scoobysport backbox from my my98 to the P1.
Is it going to make much difference from the STI box,and does the sti box sound the same as the scoobysport?.

If its the standard STi backbox, which is basically the standard UK one, but with a single tail pipe on it, then yes it will make a difference.

Ian,to your knowledge has anyone fitted one to a P1, is it just a straight swap?.
If it isn't the standard sti box how can you tell and do you then have to buy an alternative box?.

I dont know anyone that has fitted one, as i dont know anybody that has a P1 really. It will be a straight swap, the STi back box has STi stamped on it, and has a taper, if you look underneath, the 90 mm tailpipe goes down to a much smaller opening at the box, Prodrive are doing a new box for the car as well, about 350 quid i think ?

All Impreza Turbo exhausts are exactly the same, UK spec or Jap import, the only time you get trouble is if you have certain exhausts, i think HKS may be one (prepared to be corrected) , that uses different fittings, so dont connect to the standard parts.

Having heard a warmed P1 exhaust note - yes you will need your SS Backbox. Quieter than a std STi, quieter than a std UK. Even my wifes freelander has a louder and ore enticing exhaust note!

Thumbs up

I posed this question to PC at Scoobysport, as I have a P1 on order and already have a Scoobysport exhaust fitted to my Terzo and did not want to loose it.

Pete informs me that, yes the Scoobysport exhaust will fit the P1.

On the strengths of that I’ve already made arrangements with my dealer to the Scoobysport exhaust off my Terzo and fit it to my P1 before I collect it.

Whenever it arrives ?

Talking

I'm fitting one to my P1 this weekend assuming Pete delivers on Thursday as promised. Will post my thoughts then.

P1 with std exhaust is VERY quiet. Not sure if the prodrive mats in the boot dont help.
