Fitting a VF35 to a MY98 this weekend hopefully - any tips ?
Presume I'll just need a gasket pack from Subaru dealer bolt it on & Bob's your Uncle.
Fingers crossed that no modification is necessary ?

Wink

Best to check oil pressure running through turbo prior to replacing & after replacing; to ensure no potential oil starvation

Replace the oil, new oil & new turbo

Drive with no too much boost for the first 100 miles

Ensure all bolts are tight & top up the water if necessary (you'll spill some I promise!!)

You'll find you lose less coolant if you push a 3/8th extension bar in the coolant pipes. Also, turn the nipple on the actuator round so the vacuum tube will fit. (Use pliers CAREFULLY!)
I'd say the hardest part is getting the inlet pipe on the VF35 because the housing sticks out more......it gets a bit fiddly!

Also, the oil return pipe is a git to get on. Best thing to do is take the top clip off it and throw it away! Its only gravity fed so it won't leak and it makes things a hell of a lot easier......unless you have hands like a small child!
